Everybody is up in arms about Barack supposedly looking at some lil girl’s booty. It’s clearly just a ploy to tarnish the good image of a great man. But I know First Lady Michelle O. is not worried about that and neither is the Prez. Why would he be when he got a GROWN woman at home?

Terrell Owens will jump on the celebreality bandwagon on Vh1 at the end of this month. My girl, Tea (check out her site, here) pointed out this ad from the current issue of Essence and I HAD to talk about this one. Here’s the press release:

The Terrell Owens Project is Set to Premiere in the Summer of 2009 on VH1
Los Angeles, CA – January 26, 2009 – VH1 has teamed up with one of the most recognizable names and personalities in sports — Terrell Owens — who will star in his own reality show slated to premiere in the summer of 2009 on VH1.
The series follows one of the NFL’s biggest and most outspoken stars, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, Terrell “T.O.” Owens. In the series, T.O. will be shadowed in the off-season by his best friends and publicists Monique Jackson and Kita Williams as they battle the two sides of his large personality. Viewers will discover that behind all the braggadocio, emotional histrionics, and sculpted physique that is the outspoken media magnet known to the world as “T.O.” — there is also a quiet, sensitive, mild-mannered guy from Alexander City, Alabama…that’s Terrell.
“We are thrilled to bring such a great athlete, who is one of the biggest names and personalities in all the world of sports to VH1 for a surprising high octane look inside his superstar life off the field,” said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming & Production.
Mo and Kita want to help Terrell match all the success he’s had on the field with that same kind of success off the field. Now, after a string of relationships and off-the-field endeavors, Terrell is ready to re-examine his personal life and finally put a plan into action. These outspoken, vibrant women are more like T.O.’s sisters than people who work for him. They will function as matchmakers and therapists and also put their marketing expertise to use and help him make his life off of the field as successful as his life on it!
The series is executive produced by Evan Prager and Jesse Ignjatovic for Den of Thieves. Executive producers for VH1 are Jill Holmes, Alex Demyanenko, Noah Pollack and Jeff Olde.

The Essence Music Festival blew through Nawlins’ and all of those lucky enough to go enjoyed performances from hella artists over the fourth of July holiday weekend. I think it’s so funny how Tenille is so extra about her man Ne-Yo, she makes SURE that the public knows that he is absolutely taken. Did you guys peep her at the pre-show for the BET awards? She was up on stage with him when he was picking the winner of his dance contest. She didn’t have a purpose up there except to let us know that she has that on LOCK!

Last weekend the Essence Music Fest hit New Orleans and there was a celeb turnout at the Carol’s Daughter pop-up store in the French Quarter. Carol’s Daughter is the popular skin and hair beauty line that was conceived by entrepreneur Lisa Price. Celebs like Estelle, Keri Hilson and Melanie Fiona hit up the store to get some sweet smelling fabulous finds.

Eva Marcille and Lance Grohss are my favorite celebrity couple right now. They are engaged, happy and loving each other all over the place. Eva hosted a party for her boo at The Kress in Hollywood for his 28th birthday. Invited guests included Tatyana Ali, Jill Marie Jones and Tony Rock. Eva and Lance are gonna have some beautiful babies, I wish they would hurry up and set the wedding date so that I can post the pics!

Beyonce is definitely a high-maintenance chick, I always figured as much but I’ve been hearing more and more stories that prove it. I heard about Beyonce wanting to sing, “I’ll Be There,” at the BET awards and when she wasn’t allowed she decided to regale us with that yawn-worthy performance, that I’m sure she would have done anyway.

Rumor has it that America’s sweetheart, Raven-Symone, supposedly gave birth a couple of months ago and kept the whole pregnancy under wraps. Raven and her publicist adamantly denied these claims and it makes sense that if she was pregnant, she would’ve admitted to it. At 24 years old, she’s a grown woman and there’s no reason for her to hide a pregnancy and a beautiful baby girl. The father of the baby was rumored to be her best friend Jussie Smollet, who happens to be Jurnee Smollet’s brother. Does anybody else remember when all of the Smollet children had a tv show? What happened to great sitcoms like that? But, I digress. Anyway, according to yazmar.com the baby, Lilianna Jade Pearman was allegedly born in an Atlanta hospital. I doubt that this is true because aside from the fact that Raven is grown as all get out, Jussie looks Miss Honey certified and I doubt that he is hitting that. This rumor is very suspect so take this one with a grain of salt.

Christian Siriano, the FIERCE winner of the fourth season of Project Runway is giving us access to style for less moolah. Last December, Siriano announced his collaboration with Payless and upcoming plans to distribute a shoe and handbag line for fall 2009. The collection features Egyptian inspired footwear and accessories with spikes, chains and cone-shaped heels. The price range is $25-$45 for the items which could be considered steep for Payless but still affordable compared to other fashion retailers.
Siriano isn’t the first designer to link up with the low-cost shoe store. Over the last few years, Payless has been debuting collections at New York’s Fashion Week and pairing up with high fashion designers to give everyone a chance to have fly shoes for less.

I have long been a fan of Essence magazine, even after it was bought by Time Warner and was no longer a Black-owned magazine. I’m aware that print media is losing its popularity and I think I’m one of the few people that will still buy a magazine. I’ve always been a subscriber to magazines that I can relate to like Honey, Suede, Vibe Vixen, etc. because I love the glossy covers, high fashion spreads and the celeb interviews. What I have been noticing whenever I hit up a local drugstore and browse through the mags is that EVERY cover features the same people over and over again.
