The Truth

 I am really feeling Drake.  Everybody has been buzzing about him but I didn’t really pay attention.  I just couldn’t get past the fact that he was a rapper from Canada that was a character on Degrassi.   I felt like the game didn’t need another fake thug false flagging about the hard life he really didn’t have. After listening to some of his music, I’ve changed my mind.  The boy has flow, tight lyrics and nice beats. What more could you want? He even has Chi-town flava and you all know I love my city, so that’s a huge compliment coming from me.  I also heard that he’s dating video model Bria Myles and he gets extra cool points because she’s cute as a button.  Okay, maybe “cute” isn’t the right word to describe this sex kitten but y’all know what I mean.  To top it all of, he can sing too!  Check out his some of his songs below and hopefully you’ll fall in love with his music too.

J. Hud Recovers from her Fashion Faux Pas

Jennifer Hudson was on the “Today Show” last week  wearing an ensemble that totally surprised me.  She usually has a lot of style and her divatude always shows through but this outfit was a complete fashion fail.  I know that the harem pants are supposed to be hot right now but they are definitely not for everybody.  But it’s cool because she totally redeemed herself with newly released photos taken by celebrity photographer, Derek Blanks.  She looks absolutely stunning in these photos and you completely forget about the atrociousness of her Today Show get-up.

Wanna Minaj?

There’s a new Queen Bee making a buzz in the industry.  If you’ve been keeping up with bad girls in the rap game, then you’ve heard of her.   Her name is Nicki Minaj and she’s killing mics all over the country.  She was discovered by Fendi, CEO of Dirty Money Records.  He heard her songs on her Myspace page and offered her a spot on his “The Come Up” DVD series.  She was featured on “The Carter” edition which included clips of Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.  When Wayne saw her video, he wanted to make her the female face of his Young Money crew.  They began recording together and have been putting out music ever since.  Nicki remains unsigned to any label and for now, she wants to keep it that way.  Check out her official Myspace page, here.

Ain’t No Love in This Club

So some of you might have heard how Keri Hilson dissed Beyonce and Ciara on the remix of her hit, “Turnin’ Me On” featuring T-Pain and Lil Wayne.  For those of you that missed this, here’s how it went down.  The diss track was released by super-producer, Polow da Don, who is also Keri’s close friend and head of her label, Zone 4.  Keri’s verse is below and you can listen to the whole song here:

“I ain’t trying to start no mess but there’s something on my chest/ that I need to get off/ cause you turning me off /your vision cloudy if you think you the best, you can dance/ you can sing / but need to move it to the left/She need to go have some babies/She need to sit down she fake/them other chicks ain’t even worth my time to talk about/Been getting dollars/ go and get your money up/Go head and tell these folks how long I’ve been writing your song/ I been putting you on/ Just check the credits ho/ And if you want me you can find me in Decatur ho.”  

Well, Keri’s beef with Bey seems to stem from an incident involving Usher.  Keri collaborated with Usher and created a verse for, Love in This Club, Part II, the remix to his hit, Love in This Club.  Keri’s vocals were scrapped after Beyonce heard the song and wanted to be on the track.  Usher’s consolation prize to Keri was allowing her to be his love interest in the video for the original song.  According to the NY Post, this wasn’t much of a prize.  It was reported that Keri was mistreated on the video set by Usher’s wife, Tameka Foster.  Here’s what was written:

“The day of the shoot, Tameka dressed Keri very badly – she looked like an extra,” and Foster “took a dislike to Usher’s longtime choreographer, Jamaica, and banned her from the set.”“It was supposed to be a sexy video shoot,” “And Tameka was there the entire time guarding like a watchdog. It was ridiculous – she knows Keri and knows she’s no video ho or Karrine Steffans.” “Tameka is very insecure,” “Even in rehearsals she was weird and clearly not happy that Keri is so gorgeous. Tameka threw a lot of attitude. The day of the shoot, Tameka dressed Keri very badly – she looked like an extra. Tameka wouldn’t let Keri have her hairdresser there – she had to use the hairdresser who was doing the extras.”

Tameka is reported to be possessive, insecure and very jealous.  But if Usher likes it, I love it.  I’m just surprised  he married a woman at all, let alone had 2 kids.  He was always a tad bit Miss Honey-ish to me. Maybe Tameka shouldn’t be so worried about Usher’s female friends…

A New Boo for Chris Breezy???

Chris Brown supposedly has a new girlfriend.  He was seen leaving a tattoo parlor in Hollywood with an “unknown” woman on April 11th.  It has since been discovered that the mystery woman is Natalie Mejia of girl group, Girlicious. I don’t know about this, it could be a publicity stunt.  I can see it helping out Natalie’s career because I don’t think anyone even knows her group exists. But I don’t see what’s in it for Chris.   In my opinion, he should stay out of the public eye with women, at least until after the trial is over.  If they are a couple, I really hope that she’s mastered the art of breathing with no air.  My advice for her; Stay out of Lambos, don’t check text messages and wear lots of Vaseline (he won’t be able to hold you down and get any lucky bites in!).  Natalie, watch your back!!

Adrienne Bailon has been signed to Def Jam.  After being a member of 3LW as well as The Cheetah Girls, Adrienne is finally coming into her own.  So she has a solo career and will possibly be a Kardashian in the future. I ain’t mad at her!
